Healthier snacks brand GoodSam Foods has confirmed several key appointments at director level including Sara Galeano (main image) responsible for sustainability, Kari Janapareddi within sales, and Ryan Siwinski within its US operations, reports Neill Barston.
The company’s enhanced team comes amid a period of notable expansion for the business, against a backdrop of considerable growth within the better-for-you market.
Having been founded in 2019 by social mission entrepreneur, Sam Stroot alongside products specialist, Heather K. Terry, GoodSam, they have focused on high-quality cocoa products found in Colombia, as well as sourcing ranges from Africa.
In a further development, the firm, which offers a broad product range including chocolate, nuts and bakery series, recently welcomed Marcia Bell in the role of Chief Operating Officer starting in March after nearly a year as a consultant.
She said: “taking on this role allows me to work with an incredible team, developing responsibly-sourced, sustainable supply chains in a direct-trade system that will contribute to supporting our planet. Our commitment to these choices will have a deep and lasting impact in the beautiful communities that have opened not only their farms to us, but their hearts as well.”
The company announced another international new hire in the form of Louise Kibugi will serve as Executive Coordinator, stationed in Nairobi, Kenya, effective immediately. Each member of the GoodSAM team contributes to the overall mission of being good for the planet and creating sustainable impact in the food industry.
“There is nothing more exciting as a founder and entrepreneur than watching your team grow as the company grows. My vision for this company is extensive and will take a seasoned, forward-thinking, and diverse team to accomplish it,” says GoodSAM Founder & CEO, Heather K. Terry.
“Fundamentally upending the food system as we know it, investing and driving growth in regenerative agriculture will take massive alignment, action, and an unrelenting commitment to sustainability and farmers. I believe we are shaping the team at GoodSAM Foods to take that challenge head-on.”
In another significant development for the company, the business has been awarded Chocolate Product of the Year by The 2022 Mindful Awards Programme.
Travis Grant, Managing Director, “As brands focus on the environment and sustainable lifestyles, we are seeing a movement to reward these ‘brands with a purpose’ as they seek to help create a better world environmentally, economically, and from a humanitarian perspective.” GoodSAM is thrilled to be a part of that movement.
