Vidal reports strong success from Sweets & Snacks Expo 25th anniversary event

Vidal Candies has reported a strong response to its latest ranges at this year’s Sweets & Snacks Expo, with the business being among the original exhibitors of the key US event, reports Neill Barston.

The Spanish-founded business, which was established in the early 1960s, has grown its international presence over the decades, operating in America as a subsidiary since 2010 with its well established range of gummies confectionery.

As the company noted, it was proud to play its part amid the event that attracted more than 16,000 industry professionals to McCormick Place in Chicago recently, attracting visitors from around the world.

The firm explained that it has been committed to expanding its international operations and its team enjoyed playing its part in the 25th anniversary celebrations for Sweets & Snacks (see our exclusive video review of the event here), with the company producing a number of novelties in its portfolio.

In 1997, Vidal exhibited for the first time at the All Candy Expo as it was originally known, and was the first Spanish company to be present at this show.

Since then, its position in the North American market has not stopped growing, as evidenced by the recognition of its brand and products that reach the entire country through its subsidiary Vidal Candies USA. As the company added, it arrived with a wide selection of items from its USA catalogue, focused on a wide variety of unique flavours.

This included seasonal assortments created to surprise at special moments such as Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day or Easter.  This year the business introduced new products aimed at a more adult audience with daring flavours and textures in 3.5 oz. peg bags.

Based on its characteristic “Filled Gummi’s” brand technology, the new launches complement its existing range the US market, including “Spicy Mangos” which has already reportedly been a success in the Latino market due to its mix of fruit and spice. These three new gummies, Chili Peppers “Filled Gummies”, Wild Raspberries “Sour Filled Gummies” and Sour Kiwi Slices “Sour Gummies”, have a special soft and fruity texture and proved a favourite with show visitors.

Matt Hanna, sales director Vidal Candies USA, felt the Chicago show had been a memorable celebration. He said: “The Expo this year was a much needed event for so many of us. Many things have changed since Chicago 2019 and our lives and businesses have had to de reorganised and be reinvented.

“The one thing that has not and will not change, is the quality and innovation that Vidal Candies USA provides for this show. It was great to so many of our customers, supplier and partners once again face to face and meet many news ones, which will certainly help us continue sweeten the life of many consumers across the USA. The whole Team @ Vidal Candies USA where very proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this outstanding Expo. We are counting the days to the 2023 Edition.”
