Twizzlers challenges consumers with mystery confectionery flavour

The US-based Twizzlers confectionery brand is bringing some intrigue to the Hershey-owned brand in releasing its first ever mystery flavour, reports Neill Barston.

According to its developers, fans of the fruity liquorice treat that has become something of an institution in America, may well have to go through quite a few guesses as to exactly what its latest chewy bar creation actually is.

“For centuries, humans have been intrigued by unsolved mysteries – Big Foot, Loch Ness, El Chupacabra,” saidĀ Ryan Hagemeyer, Senior Associate Brand Manager, Twizzlers Brand. “In 2021, the brand is getting in on the mystery game with a fun and flavourful twist by introducing its first-everĀ  Twists Mystery Flavour.”

The company is challenging fans to solve the riddle fast, as this summer it will be formally revealing the mystery flavour, so is offering the chance to solve the puzzle over the next few months. This limited-edition variety will be available nationwide beginning this spring for $2.39.

Hershey has enjoyed a particularly busy month surrounding Easter, which has retained its position as one of the most pivotal retail periods in the year. The company, which handles Cadbury ranges in the US, recently confirmed Betty the Australian White’s Treefrog from Stuart, FL, as the winner of the much-loved Easter brand’s third-annual Cadbury Bunny Tryouts and will be the new star of the iconic Cadbury Clucking Bunny Commercial.
