Ferrero Canada names Kinder Bueno Mini as a key Product of the Year winner

Ferrero Canada has confirmed Kinder Bueno Mini as the 2021 Product of the Year winner in the Mini Chocolate category, based on key consumer studies, reports Neill Barston.

The contest is considered the largest consumer-voted award for product innovation, chosen by 4,000 Canadian shoppers in a national survey conducted by the Kantar global research group.

As the company noted, being the range’s most recent addition to the Kinder Bueno line-up, the Bueno Mini offers the same layer of crispy wafer, milk chocolate and hazelnut milky filling as the Kinder Bueno bar but in single, individually wrapped bite size pieces ideal for sharing.

“In the past year, we know that Canadians have been looking for simple ways to treat themselves and their families, and it’s good to see that Kinder Bueno Mini can offer that,” said Lu Huang, Brand Manager, Kinder Bueno. “Ferrero’s history is rooted in creating exceptional quality products that people love and enjoy. With so much product innovation happening across the industry, this is great recognition from our fans in a highly competitive category.”

Consumer shopping behaviour has rapidly shifted in the past year, and with heightened online purchasing and decreased sampling opportunities, Product of the Year helps shoppers quickly cut through the clutter to save time and money with their distinctive red seal.

“For all the obvious reasons, shoppers are spending less time in the supermarket than ever, but still crave new and innovative products to light up these difficult times. Because of this, we are more excited than ever to announce the 2021 Product of the Year winners and help shoppers find that ‘great new product’ when it matters most, however they do their shopping this year,” said Mike Nolan, Global CEO of Product of the Year Management.

This year’s winning products reflect the trends and categories that everyday shoppers care about most as they spend more time at home. For further information about the 2021 Product of the Year winners, visit productoftheyear.ca and check out this year’s interactive winners page to learn more.
