Faerch Plast signs up to UK Plastics Pact
Faerch Plast UK, a manufacturer of plastic packaging for the food industry including the snacks segment, has signed up to the UK Plastics Pact.
The initiative aims to transform the British plastics industry by bringing together the entire value chain behind a common set of ambitious targets.
As part of the scheme, the new pact will move the company towards delivering a system which keeps plastic in the economy and out of the environment.
The company’s commitment to the pact involves investing in further innovation, research and new business models to rethink and redesign the packaging it delivers to the food industry, as well as encourage more re-use.
Faerch Plast is a founding member of The UK Plastics Pact, led by WRAP, and aligned with and supporting The Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s global initiative. It is a collaborative initiative that will create a circular economy for plastics and ensure that plastics do not end up in the environment.
Andrew Osborne-Smith, regional CEO, (pictured), said: “We are very proud to be part of the WRAP UK Plastics Pact. We see this as an extremely positive step forward and confirms our alignment with the European Circular Economy. We have a clear 12-month Roadmap in place and the work starts now.
“Faerch Plast is one of the leading manufacturers of recyclable plastic packaging for the food industry, and through our support of the UK Plastics Pact we can continue our long standing policy of helping to reduce the environmental impact through product innovation and material development.”
