Amcor Flexibles has announced the winner of its recent packaging design prize competition as Pierre Collard from university Ensav La Cambre in Brussels for his entry ‘Squeeze’.

‘Squeeze’ responds in a simple but creative way to the competition brief for the confectionery category. By assembling two elliptic shapes, Pierre created an M&M’s pack shaped to fit in consumers’ hands. The opening mechanism enables easy access to the chocolates. The packaging format engages consumers and allows sharing of the products without compromising on hygiene.
The judging panel, which consisted of Laurent Herault and Dennis van Eeten from Mars, Mary Godfrey from Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate, Niels Østergaard from Arla Foods as well as representatives of Amcor Flexibles, comments, “The design is new and fresh and there is nothing similar available on the market.”
“The ‘Squeeze’ pack enables eating on the go, is recloseable and initiates sharing of the chocolates. I am convinced that he will add significant value to both our customers and our own innovative packaging when he commences his 12 month work placement as the competition prize,” comments Andrew Parker, market director at Amcor Flexibles.
