Functional ingredients on show

DSM is due to present its latest inovations at this year’s Food Ingredients South America (FiSA).

DSM will be showcasing its range of nutritional lipids derived from fish oil, including MEG-3, a source of omega-3 without the fish taste. The firm’s life’sDHA product, a source of DHA omega-3 derived from algae will also be on show.

The company’s OatWell oat beta-glucan, which is particularly well known for its heart health benefits, will also be on the stand. Beta-glucan is a soluble fibre found in oats that helps to maintain healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels, both key pillars of cardiovascular function.

Fortitech Premixes, customised blends of functional ingredients, such as vitamin, minerals, amino acids, nucleotides and nutraceuticals, will also be presented. These blends allow manufacturers to boost the nutritional profile of their products without altering the taste, texture, colour or mouthfeel.

Ana-Luisa Aguiar, head of marketing, Latin America, Human Nutrition & Health at DSM, comments: “We are delighted to be exhibiting at FiSA. Latin America is one of the fastest growing markets in the food and ingredients industry and we are proud to showcase our range of nutritional solutions at this flagship show. We’re here to demonstrate how our nutritional solutions, alongside our scientific and regulatory expertise, application support and market insights, can help manufacturers to stand out in this extremely competitive market.”
