High packaging speeds

1st June 2011 – CFS Aquarius has launched one of its fastest vertical form, fill and seal packaging machines in combination with a overhead weigher. The CX180 has a continuous film transport system and delivers 200 bags per minute with the popular 100 g confectionery bag size. It features a new touch screen control panel which makes this compact, high speed machine exceptionally operator friendly.

Carla Verheijen, product manager for CFS SmartPackers comments, “For confectionery applications in particular, packaging speed is one of the critical parameters. This continuous bagger is optimised for speed, and to ensure that it meets line performance requirements, we have worked with overhead weigher manufacturers to ensure the maximum capacity is maintained and down time is minimised.”

The CX180 has an extremely sensitive ‘product in seal’ detection system, which automatically opens the jaws as soon as an object or product particle is detected – without disrupting production.

The SmartPacker CX180 benefits from standard design features like fast changeover of film reel, fast cleaning and excellent access for maintenance. It provides an inexpensive yet fast way of packaging a wide variety of convenience foods, including confectionery and snacks.
