Oreo set to hit the ground running for 2026 with key launches

Mondelēz International is pulling out all the stops for the New Year, with some significant new product development across its Oreo ranges, including delivering a zero sugar cookie offering, reports Neill Barston.

Among the stars of its show for the dawn of 2026 is a signature twist on its muffin range, made with cocoa and baked with distinctive flavours, the series will be a permanent addition to its portfolio from this month.

In addition, the brand is also introducing Oreo Cakesters Confetti Cake! Featuring birthday cake–flavoured creme sandwiched between two soft, confetti cakes.

Another element to its range will be Oreo Thins, delivered as an indulgent treat featuring chocolate ganache creme, alongside a parallel release of its Oreo mini chocolate creme series. The latter is being made available in two convenient sizes, 3oz and 8oz bags, targeting on-the-go moments.

Furthermore, Oreo  Cookie Dough returns for the first time since 2014, featuring cookie dough-flavoured creme with choco chip inclusions sandwiched between two choco chip cookies. This limited-edition treat will be returning to shelves starting on December 22nd, 2025, and will be available nationwide while supplies last.

Moreover, there range will also include bite-size Golden Oreo minis from January, Oreo mini peanut butter and Oreo Reese’s Cookies, which offers an intriguing crossover between cookies and candy. 

This features  signature Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies filled with Reese’s peanut buttery creme and cookie crumbs.

Zero sugar offering
Notably, the company is also moving to create a zero sugar offering for its cookies, in the wake of research that has shown that 66% of Americans are presently looking to limit the amount of sugar they consume.

According to the company, the new series promises to deliver “a 100% authentic Oreo experience” without having to compromise on taste.

They are sweetened with maltitol, polydextrose, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, and are Aspartame free.  The new series will feature a refreshed design, the cookies come in a standup bag, for convenient on-the-go snacking, offering a key new element to its portfolio.
