ICS Cool Energy has supplied a durable cooling solution to enhance temperature-critical production processes at a specialist bakery in the north of the UK.

The industrial bakery produces a range of products including croissants, ciabatta and other specialty bread and pastry products to sell in countries around the world such as Canada, the US, Japan and Mexico.

A cooling solution is critical to ensure that the traditional baking approach, which produces a perfect texture and crust, is not compromised. ICS Cool Energy’s approach was to select its most durable and hardwearing equipment, thus managing the challenge of dealing with consistently high levels of demand.

After surveying the site, ICS Cool Energy recommended and installed a one-off AT/K 8281 Aptus chiller, which has maintenance-free hermetic scroll compressors and is able to work with ozone-friendly refrigerant R410A to regulate the temperature of the bakery’s processes.

Director Kevin Whyte comments: “For specialised processes such as this, our temperature control equipment provides the customer with a reliable method of cooling that could cope with such substantial levels of use. Our engineers provided a full turnkey solution for the bakery from initial surveying, right through to commissioning of the equipment.”
