Smurfit Kappa targets packaging supply problems

4 October 2010 – Smurfit Kappa, the UK-based integrated paper-based packaging supplier, is offering a choice of novel ‘performance-packaging’ solutions for confectionery manufacturers experiencing packaging supply problems.

Whilst many UK and European carton makers are reporting longer lead times, Smurfit Kappa’s board manufacturing plants are expanding their production to meet increasing demand from the confectionery sector for timely alternatives. The company is now offering immediate alternative solutions for confectionery packaging that are unhindered by the worldwide supply chain issues affecting other packaging producers and sheetfeeders.
