Armenia makes world’s largest chocolate bar

13 September 2010 – An Armenian confectionery company has been officially recognised for making the largest chocolate bar in the world.

Grand Candy set a new Guinness World Record by making the 4,41kg bar, which was presented in ceremony on 11 September. It was made to mark the tenth anniversary of the company was created using 500kg of cocoa beans imported from Africa and 300kg of powdered sugar. It beat the previous 3,58kg bar manufactured in Italy three years ago.

Company president Karen Vardanyan has announced an open chocolate tasting event in the country’s Republic Square on 16 October.
