WDS equipment confirms Interpack machinery focuses for Dusseldorf event

German-based Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen (WDS) has unveiled several core areas for focus with its machinery developed for processing product ranges including gum, jelly, toffee and chocolate ranges, at this year’s Interpack in Dusseldorf this May, writes Neill Barston.

As the business explained to Confectionery Production,  flexible machine concepts will be presented at its stand, such as the ConfecECO in jelly configuration, the new, versatile ConfecVARIO configured for chocolate production and a laboratory depositor for special hygienic demands.

At the 650 m², multimedia-equipped trade fair stand, visitors can also learn about the WDS “sweetOTC” division, which specialises in the product development and production of innovative OTC confectionery or supplement dosage forms. With new, specially designed WDS production plants, companies can expand their product portfolio and thus open up new growth markets.

Another topic at interpack will be “Starch-free WDS production technology under GMP conditions”. To this end, WDS has developed new and innovative plant technology for depositing and demoulding with polycarbonate moulds.

In terms of its display for the Dusseldorf show happening between 4-10 May, the company will be showcasing its ConfecECO, the entry line into serial production, which is aimed at aspiring companies and smaller manufactures.

In addition to the production of chocolate products, the ConfecECO series is also suitable for pectin, toffee and fondant products. With a production capacity of up to 600 kg/hour for chocolate and 300 kg/hour for jelly products, ConfecECO is the ideal machine to fulfil the special requirements of the target group.

The range of products that can be produced on this line includes solid and filled sweets in silicone or polycarbonate moulds. This machine type is also suitable for the production of gum and jelly products with added food supplements. A ConfecECO in jelly configuration with post-treatment will be on display at interpack. There will also be a demonstration of demoulding during the event.

Furthermore, with company’s “sweetOTC” division, it is one of the leading suppliers of technologies and machines for the production of actively effective OTC sweets and supplements. In this area, WDS offers its customers complete solutions in a customised, GMP-qualified design. This includes brainstorming, the development of individual confectionery products, customised production processes, ensuring the exact and reproducible dosing of active ingredients as well as a comprehensive after-sales service.

To meet the growing demand, the WDS technical centre, specialised in the development of new and the optimisation of existing depositing and moulding processes in confectionery production, has been expanded considerably.

The latest WDS laboratory depositor for product development and manufacturing in the sweetOTC environment will also be presented at interpack. To avoid contamination and cross-contamination, the EasyClean concept has been optimised. Together with risk assessment (FMEA) and a qualification concept, this generation of WDS laboratory depositors is ideal for anyone who wants to tap into the opportunities and growth potential in the field of innovative and alternative dosage forms. The company is at Hall 1,, B 66, with appointments appointments possible in advance at [email protected].
