Barry Callebaut celebrates official launch of its new Chinese regional HQ and chocolate academy

Barry Callebaut has held an official opening for its centrally-located Greater China headquarters and its flagship Chocolate Academy Centre, in Shanghai, marking 15 years in the country, reports Neill Barston.

As the business noted, it has steadily continued its growth within the region – which as previously reported, has shown an ever-greater interest in confectionery ranges from around the world.

Notably, the country was chosen as the launch location for Barry Callebaut’s Ruby Chocolate series, which has been adopted in product ranges around the world since its initial delivery more than five years ago.

The company has set up its chocolate academy three years ago in Beijing and Shenzhen, and the country is one of Barry Callebaut’s largest chocolate gourmet markets globally. Its chocolate academies have been developed as a hub of expertise, creativity and inspiration for both professionals and confectionery fans alike.

Since 2009, Shanghai has been the headquarters for our Greater China business. This bustling city is a key geographic hub to anchor our growth, innovation, and digitalization goals for the Chinese market. Situated by the beautiful Huangpu River that is in the heart of Shanghai, the new office is designed to be a comfortable, collaborative, and efficient environment for its teams in management, sales and marketing, customer support, and administrative support.
