Love Raw claims world first with vegan chocolate nutty balls

UK plant-based chocolate brand LoveRaw is claiming a category world first with the launch of its Nutty Choc Balls, which are set for release this month, reports Neill Barston.

These vegan treats have been developed to have a taste profile comparable to conventional ranges, yet are produced without palm oil, dairy or artificial ingredients.

They are being made available at retail stores including Asda, Holland & Barrett and on LoveRaw’s website (eatloveraw.com),  at £1.69, and are set to be sold in pairs and made using whole hazelnuts dipped in a smooth vegan hazelnut cream, coated in LoveRaw’s plant-based chocolate and rolled in delicious, crunchy hazelnut pieces.

The launch of Nutty Choc Balls follows the release of the company’s reformulated Peanut Butter Cups, created with a brand-new recipe, guaranteeing a flavour and texture that is even closer to their traditional chocolate counterparts, which have been flying off store shelves as more UK shoppers turn to plant-based chocolate.

As the business noted, its latest line can also be enjoyed as part of a unique recipe, and its development follows swiftly on the heels of the firm’s M:lk Choc bars, timed around this year’s Veganuary.

Furthermore, the company noted, it anticipates the segment will be larger than ever this year, having seen significant growth amid the pandemic, as consumers increasingly turned to issues of wellbeing and better-for-you ranges. The ambitious brand aims to cement its growth within the UK’s plant-based market, which is predicted to reach £1.1bn in value by 2023.
