Blommer Chocolate makes key management appointments including new COO
US-based Blommer Chocolate has moved to strengthen its management team including appointing David Meggs as its new Chief Operating Officer, reports Neill Barston.
He will beĀ leading the commercial team (Sales, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain) as well as overseeing itsĀ four North American production facilities.
As the company explained, the move will it to more closely align our commercial growth strategy with the supply side of the
business. David (pictured), joined Blommer in 2017 and has an extensive background in the food industry in various sales, business development, and engineering roles.
The company now employs more than 900 staff across its cocoa processing and chocolate ingredients operations, with facilities across America, and also in China. It provides solutions for domestic and international customers of all sizes in the confectionery, baking and dairy industries.
Furthermore, the firm is also promoting Colleen Ness to VP Sales & Marketing, having also joined in 2017 and brings a strong background of leadership roles in sales and customer focused activities. Until recently, Colleen has served as director of sales for the Midwest region in addition to leading our marketing activities.
Completing its round of key appointments, Melissa Tisoncik has been promoted to VP of Research & Development & QA. She has over 10 years of experience within Blommer and is reportedly a wealth of information for all things chocolate. Core areas of her focus will include responsibility for quality assurance and regulatory activities within the company.
