ECA confirms forum plans include hosting a return for Chocovision

The European Cocoa Association has confirmed its key forum event being held in Rome next year is set to be expanded to host Chocovision, which had previously stood as a separate biannual industry gathering attended by senior industry executives at Davos in Switzerland, writes Neill Barston.

As the ECA noted, its latest conference element is anticipated to remain close to its roots through bringing together stakeholders in the cocoa, chocolate and confectionery sector to explore impactful measures designed to influence sustainable production methods.

Set to be held between 13th-15th September 2022, the forum takes place at the Hotel Villa Pamphili, with a full programme of sessions and speakers aimed at leading professionals, with organisers confirming that it will continually monitor the situation regarding covid. In case of a late cancellation due to Covid-19, the registration fees will be reimbursed, with all participants requiring a valid vaccination or recovery certificate in order to comply with the Green Pass regulations in place in Italy.

Confectionery Production’s coverage of the last European Cocoa Forum event in 2019 addressed a series of major issues across the industry – including revealing plans for the recently introduced Living Income Differential for farmer payments in Ghana and Ivory Coast. Its panel discussion also put forward strong reflections on the state of the industry, amid significant legislative and economic changes that are impacting across the entire food and drink sector.

The networking activities for the 2022 European Cocoa Forum will start as from Tuesday 13 of September, and the Conference will be held on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15, with a range of topical issues, and will close with a gala dinner. For further details, visit
