Almost time for Sweet Brazil exhibition
The Brazilian exhibitors at 12th Sweet Brazil International, that will start on Monday 10 August in Recife, Brazil, have excellent reasons to be optimistic with the results they expect to obtain at the fair.
Brazil is the fourth biggest world producer of chocolate, sugar confectionery and gum and the country has seen exports of chocolate grow by a resounding 159% ” from 54 to 124 countries ” in the last ten years. Exports of sugar confectionery and gum have grown by 151% in the same period ” from 85 to 135 countries.
The exhibition is held under the umbrella of ABICAB, the Brazilian Chocolate, Sugar Candies and Peanut Manufacturers Association, in partnership with APEX-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). Exhibitors represent 96% of the chocolate produced in the country, 86% of sugar confectionery and gum and 60% of peanut products.
“Sweet Brazil International is an opportunity for the industry to present its vast line of products as well as launching one hundred new products each year. This allows business to expand continuously and dramatically in Brazil and abroad”, says Getulio Ursulino Netto, president of ABICAB.
