Fortress Technology has unveiled its most compact metal detector yet ”

“ available with the option of a 52mm or 109mm size aperture. Believed to be the smallest of its kind currently on the market, the Mini-tex (Mini Vertex) has all the functionality of the company’s ‘Phantom’ range yet with a drastically reduced footprint.

Based on the company’s Vertex system aimed at applications involving freefalling product, the Mini-tex was originally developed as an ideal replacement for older models of metal detector, and specially designed to fit in restricted spaces, where most units would be unable to go. This would avoid the need to move or replace other existing machinery and the associated costs.

Using the latest Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to inspect freefalling product at high speeds, the system is capable of detecting the smallest ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants including pieces of wire, shavings and swarf.
Typically located between a multi-head weigher and vertical form fill seal (VFFS) machine, product is gravity fed through the detector’s aperture before being sealed in a pouch by a bagger.
