Anuga sold out

Anuga, the food and drink trade fair, is already fully sold out, filling all 11 halls of the Cologne exhibition centre. The fair takes place 10-14 October, and promises to be another huge showcase for the food and beverage market.

With around 6,800 suppliers from 100 countries, of which 86 per cent come from outside Germany, Anuga brings together 10 trade shows in one: fine food; frozen food; meat; chilled and fresh food; dairy; bread, bakery and hot beverages; drinks; organic; food service and Retailtec. Countries exhibiting for the first time include Argentina, Australia and Thailand, and the British Frozen Food Federation will also have its first presence at the show.

The Anuga Taste innovation award opens to entries from exhibitors from June onwards. A specialist jury will select the best new products, concepts and trends for the special Anuga Taste 15 show.

Over 150,000 trade visitors are expected in Cologne. Commenting on the figures, Lorenz Alexander Rau, project manager, Anuga, says, “Eighty six per cent of the exhibitors and 66 per cent of the industry visitors come not from within Germany, but from around the whole world to Cologne.

“This means that global as well as regional collaborations and commercial relationships are agreed at Anuga. At the same time, Anuga showcases nutritional and product trends for food retailing and the restaurant trade. Not least, the social and political challenges of the food industry will be broached and discussed at Anuga, accounting for the fact that ministers and political delegations from numerous countries participate in the opening of Anuga and use the opportunity to engage in essential international networking. The Anuga ‘summit’ generates global momentum.”
