Semi-automatic packaging line
Budelpack Poortvliet BV in the Netherlands has added a semi-automatic packaging line to its range of machines for the packing of confectionery and chocolate products in plastic jars.
The packaging line is particularly suitable for medium-sized packaging projects with volumes of between 200,000 and 4 million jars per annum. The first packaged products will roll off the conveyor belt this month.
The desire for more variety and smaller households have led to increasing demand for more, smaller packaging. Peter Nieuwkerk, managing director, says: “There is plenty of demand for smaller volumes per unit. For example, clients want to be able to provide jars, pillow bags and stand up pouches. This decreases the volume per packaging variant. The diversity of packaging and the smaller volumes per packaging require flexible, attractively priced packaging solutions. This new, semi-automatic line for medium volumes meets both these preconditions.”
