New manager for gum business

The Wrigley Company Limited, a subsidiary of Mars inc, has announced that Mark Andrews has been appointed general manager of Wrigley UK.

Mark currently works for Mars in its Petcare business in China. He has worked for Mars since 2001, as a brand leader and general manager first in Europe and subsequently in China since 2009, where he has delivered significant growth for the company.

Prior to joining Mars, Mark worked for United Biscuits in the UK in a variety of marketing functions after graduating from Aston University.

Mark succeeds Hamish Thomson, who is returning to Australia to take on a global role within the company.

Commenting on the appointment, Ian Burton, regional president, Europe at Wrigley says: “Mark has a great record of running and growing businesses within Mars and I know he’ll do a great job in the UK for Wrigley.  Our UK business is in growth and has a great team for Mark to lead to even better things in the years ahead.”

Mark Andrews says: “I’m really looking forward to returning to the UK meeting the talented team at Wrigley UK and working with them to build on Wrigley’s growth in 2014 and beyond.”
