Just a relatively short but sweet blog this week, once again to thank all those who have been part of this year’s World Confectionery Conference, which marked our 90th anniversary in publishing as Confectionery Production.
It was heartening to speak to a number of people at the event at how optimistic they were in spite of broader challenges within supply chains and other key matters including ingredients price rises that remain high on the agenda – it’s these direct conversations that are invaluable and can only really be truly enjoyed in a classic live event format.
So with this in mind, we are putting a date to firmly mark down in your diaries, of 11 September, 2025, back in Brussels, which will mark our fifth edition of the event, which has become a strong pilar of our magazine, which is at the heart of our engagement with the industry.
Cutting to the core of the event, we’re proud to have flagged up major issues such as ongoing child labour and environmental concerns within the sector, as well as addressing other issues of valuing the principles of Fairtrade during the course of our events, which are intended as a lively exchange of views and policy that we hope will spark debate and influence meaningful initiatives throughout the industry.
Significantly, our conference is also very much a celebration of innovation within new products, which was certainly the case across the board this year in Brussels, which saw some worthy winners of our World Confectionery Awards, which will also be returning for 2025 as a further means of direct engagement across our varying segments of industry.
Plans are very much gathering pace for our 2025 show, so early engagement in it, both editorially in terms of speakers and commercial opportunities exist, and it is extremely helpful to us in our planning to register your interest promptly. Registration will open shortly for the event, so watch this space at our dedicated website, confectioneryconference.com
For general sponsorship and sales enquiries relating to the event, contact my colleague Chris Meer at [email protected] or myself for any further editorial feedback, which is always useful in terms of refining our offering amid a fast-changing market that continues to throw up many surprises around the world. Here’s to the prospect of another memorable gathering in the Belgian capital next September.
