Colourful snacks
13 March 2012 – Chr Hansen has expanded its research centre in Wisconsin, US, to address the growing need for natural colour solutions.
A wide range of pigments are available, including annatto, turmeric, paprika, red beet, beta carotene, orange, violet and black carrots, caramel and a wide range of blends. The use of such clean label ingredients mean a colour range of yellow, orange, red and brown shades can be created, to give your product the most appealing hue that will satisfy your consumers.
Of the 2010 retail snacks sales of $11.3 billion (€8.6bn) dollars as reported by the Snack Food Association, it is estimated that 34% or approximately $3.8bn (€2.9) use colour
