A significant industry stride has been marked by Bretts Transport, which has maintained its highest possible food safety accreditation, earning a gold standard BRCGS AA+ grade following an unannounced audit, writes Neill Barston.

The Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire based company received the coveted AA+ rating after inspectors assessed every aspect of its food storage and distribution processes.
As the company noted, this now the 13th consecutive year Bretts has maintained BRCGS accreditation, and the third year running it has achieved the highest possible grade.
Crucially, the AA+ rating was awarded following an unannounced audit – a measure voluntarily adopted by Bretts to demonstrate that exceptional standards are maintained every day, not just during scheduled inspections.
Recognised globally as one of the most rigorous food safety and quality certifications, the BRCGS standard evaluates every area of a business, from site and building management to product traceability, vehicle hygiene and operational procedures.
