The senior teams behind Danish-based equipment group, Aasted, and Netherlands gummy and jelly machinery specialist, Tanis Confectionery, have celebrated a joint venture into premium candy bar production, reports Neill Barston.
Speaking to both companies during the opening days of Interpack, which continues until May 13 at Düsseldorf Messe, there was significant enthusiasm for the deal that expands product horizons for both businesses.
Wouter Tanis, of Tanis Confectionery, enthused to our magazine that the move heralds a bright future for both companies.
“We’ve just launched our new innovation with Aasted to go into bar lines – while we’ve always done bar lines and are specialists in kitchen equipment for all kinds of confectionery items, what this latest collaboration brings is through Aasted’s Alice line that. This is able to able to gently extrude aerated products, and that is something that is reallay amazing for the market, and we expect a lot from it.”
The strategic joint venture combines Aasted’s more than 100 years of engineering expertise in advanced processing and enrobing technology with Tanis’ deep process knowledge in confectionery mass preparation.
As they asserted, together the two companies offer a seamless end-to-end production solution for chocolate.
“By combining our technologies and expertise, we are able to offer customers a
smarter, more efficient and highly flexible production solution that supports
both product quality, operational performance and sustainability ambitions,”
notes Mads Hedstrøm, Owner, Aasted.
As the businesses explained to our title, the new bar line concept has been developed with a strong focus on process control, gentle handling of sensitive masses and optimized production efficiency. The compact and efficient design eliminates the need for traditional slab forming and slitting, helping manufacturers reduce complexity while improving overall line performance.
From controlled cooking and aeration to precise extrusion, efficient cooling and premium enrobing, every step is designed to work seamlessly together;
ensuring consistent product quality, predictable throughput and reliable
industrial performance.
Key benefits of the integrated solution include: gentle handling of sensitive masses, precise layer definition and shaping, reduced waste and optimized efficiency, compact footprint and energy-saving technology, Fast product and size changeovers, as well as fully integrated end-to-end production solution
As part of the collaboration, customers will also gain access to the Tanis
Innovation Center in the Netherlands where Aasted has installed a complete
barline, where recipes and production processes can be tested, refined and
validated under real production conditions together with experienced
technologists from both companies.
