As part of a well-established seasonal activity, The National Confectioners Association (NCA) has teamed-up to supply the White House in Washington to mark its traditional Easter Egg Roll event, reports Neill Barston.

The fondly-regarded gathering has offered a key moment of celebration for the government, which has used the occasion as a notable opportunity of thanks to communities that have served the US nation.

Notably, as part of its participation, NCA is providing chocolate and candy for attendees to collect at the event, being held on the South Lawn, which has proved a colourful and engaging celebration of the season.

In addition, as an bonus element of the festivities, the industry organisation has also created a family-friendly photo opportunity featuring a life-sized Easter basket display where guests will be able to capture pictures, along with distributing “Sweet Land of Liberty” stickers honouring the confectionery industry’s deep American roots.

This prominent campaign also has its very own theme tune, created with AI assistance, unveiled at the State of the recent Industry event.

As Confectionery Production has previously reported, according to the White House’s history books, the tradition of egg rolling had grown so popular that President Ulysses S.Grant went as far as signing a bill banning of rolling the seemingly innocuous activity on Capitol grounds, due to concerns over potential damage to its well maintained environment and lawns.

Moreover, as the NCA noted, for generations, chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, and many other treats have been a familiar part of Easter baskets and springtime gatherings across the United States.

These time-honoured classics reflect the important role that chocolate and candy play in American culture, helping families celebrate special occasions, sweeten everyday moments, and create shared memories.

John Downs, president and CEO of NCA, welcomed the occasion. He commented: “The White House Easter Egg Roll and the chocolate and candy that fill Easter baskets are both cherished American traditions,”

“For generations, confectionery makers have helped bring Easter celebrations to life across the country, including at special events like the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.

“The confectionery industry remains a true American manufacturing success story, rooted in more than 250 years of craftsmanship and continuing to innovate the treats that families will enjoy for decades to come.”
