The US-based National Confectioners Association has confirmed that Lee Anne Pirrello has joined its staff as its new vice president of member value and engagement strategy.

In this role, she will build relationships with current and prospective member companies, oversee retention and engagement efforts and facilitate NCA’s industry-leading signature events and education.

This month is a particularly notable one for the NCA, as it gathers for its major State of the Industry Conference, taking place in Miami, which sets the scene for the return of Sweets and Snacks Expo, as it re-establishes itself in Chicago after being relocated last year amid the pandemic.

“Our member companies are at the centre of everything NCA does, from our advocacy efforts in Washington to our work with consumers to ensure candy is enjoyed as a part of a happy, balanced lifestyle,” John Downs, NCA President & CEO, said. “Lee Anne will continue to build these important relationships and deliver on NCA’s value proposition to our member companies, engaging with all of our stakeholders to deliver lasting value for our member companies.”

Prior to joining NCA, Pirrello was the vice president of membership at the American Medical Informatics Association, overseeing the association’s member programs and engagement. With previous positions at the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, she brings extensive association experience to her new role with NCA.
