Lindt promotes Weisskopf to CEO

Swiss chocolatier and confectionery company Lindt & Sprüngli has promoted CFO Dr Dieter Weisskopf to CEO as part of a management reshuffle.

The move will allow existing president and CEO Tanner to focus on the role of executive chairman. The transition of responsibilities as well as the appropriate adjustments of the group management structure will be effective by the end of this year.

In his position as executive chairman, Tanner will concentrate on the long term strategic direction of the group. Lindt & Sprüngli says the decision underlines its commitment to continued growth of the company.

“Thanks to our strong culture we have built a great foundation to further strengthen our position as the worldwide leading premium chocolate company,”says Tanner. “I am very pleased that I can hand over the CEO responsibilities to Dr Dieter Weisskopf, who will together with the Group Management and my support continue our success story.”
