Cagli takes helm at Caobisco

The Association of Chocolate, Biscuit and Confectionery (Caobisco) has appointed Alessandro Cagli as president at its general assembly in Brussels.
Cagli, who also serves as director of the Ferrero Group’s EU Public Affairs Office in Brussels, succeeds Patrick Poirrer, CEO of CÉMOI in France, and starts his term firmly positioning the role and place of Caobisco products in diets.
“Pleasure and balance are our two key words,” he says. “We are proud to provide our consumers with moments of pleasure, thanks to our attentively crafted sweet products. At the same time, we also want to increasingly engage with public authorities and civil society to help consumers find the best and most proper ways to fit our products into a balanced and varied diet.”
Caobisco vice presidents are now Patrick Poirrier (outgoing president) and Francesco Tramontin, director of European affairs at Mondelēz International. Tramontin will become president in 2018.
