Turkish confectionery sales rise

Recent research from Leatherhead Food indicates that confectionery sales are continuing to increase in Turkey. In 2013, value sales were worth €0.96bn, up by nearly 28 per cent from 2009. During this time, volume sales rose by 19.9 per cent to 283,000 tonnes. Growth has been driven by increased levels of consumer expenditure, as well as strong brand activity and a small rise in retail prices. Turkey represents a sizeable manufacturer and exporter of confectionery products and ingredients, supplying many nearby Middle Eastern and North African countries.
