A second dramatic world record has been achieved by Tanis Confectionery, after its latest success in creating the globe’s largest gummy mosaic using 81,400 sweets representing Rembrandt’s famed work, The Night Watch, reports Neill Barston.

The company had its daring attempt measuring six and a half by five and a half metres confirmed by Lena Kuhlmann of Guinness World Records officially confirmed at the Museum of Young Art (MOYA) in Oosterhout on Wednesday, amid scenes of notable celebration.

Significantly, Tanis had created a sense of anticipation surrounding its challenge with a striking video detailing its preparation for the attempt, with a fun sketch in which its key management team had wracked their brains for a new record attempt ahead of its latest appearance at interpack packagaging and processing show next month.

Writing on Linkedin, Wouter Tanis, the company’s chief operating officer, expressed his excitements. He said: “Can’t be more proud of the team. Breaking our second world record was a blast!”

As we previously reported three years ago, the company’s Guinness World Record Attempt was also successful, as the Netherlands business prepared for interpack 2023 in achieving the world’s largest moulded gummy, measuring some measuring 2 ½ x 2 x 1 metres,

Speaking to Confectionery Production at the time, Wouter Tanis added:  “We are just really excited we pulled it off. There was a lot of teamwork behind the scenes, because it was not easy! It was so fulfilling,” he explained of its key team challenge, which is now set to prove a major centrepiece of its appearance at Interpack.
