A sprinkling of Harry Potter magic is anticipated to conjure some spellbinding results for Finsbury Food Group’s latest series of chocolate celebration cakes, reports Neill Barston.

The business has continued to produce a strong array of snacking and confectionery-linked series, with its latest official Warner Bros tie-in having just hit shelves in Tesco stores in the UK.

As the company noted, the launch is especially timely, with 2026 marking the 25th anniversary since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone first aired on the silver screen, and plenty of excitement on the horizon for Harry Potter fans, we’re thrilled to be launching this new cake to celebrate the legacy of Harry Potter and a new era ahead.

Designed to appeal to long-standing fans of the series, as well as a new generation discovering the magic of Hogwarts for the very first time, the celebration cake brings to life some of the most recognisable details from the iconic films.

Chocolate sponge and chocolate frosting is encased within rich burgundy icing with gold accents in homage to fan favourite House, Gryffindor. The Golden Snitch and Sorting Hat both feature as chocolate decorations alongside the Hogwarts crest in gold lustre detailing. The 1kg cake serves up to 16 people and is ready to make birthdays and celebrations feel worthy of a feast in the Great Hall itself.

As licensed celebration cakes continue to perform strongly across UK retail, character-led products remain a popular choice for birthdays and family occasions. With Harry Potter appealing to both younger audiences and nostalgic fans alike, Finsbury has identified a real opportunity to bring the globally loved brand to supermarket shoppers in a celebration-ready format.

Andrew Scott, Brand Manager at Finsbury Food Group, said: “With so much to celebrate this year within the world of Harry Potter, we felt this was the perfect moment to launch a new cake inspired by the franchise.”

“Harry Potter has an incredibly loyal fanbase, from those who grew up with the original stories and watching the films in cinemas, to younger audiences discovering the magic for the very first time.”
