A social media frenzy following a Mars misprint of its Christmas Celebrations advent calendars that emerged without numbers has sparked huge demand for a fresh limited run of the peculiar product, reports Neill Barston.

The festive season has traditionally been one of the confectionery giant’s most significant moments of the year, but the company has been taken aback by the reaction to its latest accidental quirk.

According to Mars, its teams spotted more than 250 comments from fans clamouring for a fresh round of calendars without dates following an initial find by one surprised fan.

As the company noted, these highly-sought-after, tradition-breaking calendars, which enable people to open any door they want, whenever they want – captured the nation’s imagination after Elena Castellana from Hertfordshire shared her discovery online.

Her post sparked a nationwide buzz, amassing thousands of views and playful pleas from fans eager to experience their own slice of festive freedom, where dates really don’t matter.

Consequently, Celebrations has confirmed on its official Instagram channel that it will release a bespoke, limited edition batch of the coveted Numberless Advent Calendars.

As the company explained to Confectionery Production, this year’s key Christmas trends are anticipated to be build around discovering new novelties – whether they are anticipated or otherwise.

So its latest mystery calendar plays well to this development, alongside expansions of its existing favourites including its Maltesers Reindeers, which now feature a gingerbread variety, as a Christmas mix.

The company is also launching an expansion of its popular M&M’s Crispy Milk Chocolate Santa treat, which is now being made available in multipacks, after key success achieved last year.

As for its rogue advent calendar, according to the company, enthusiasts have dubbed the item a ‘must-have’ collectible, with some comments speculating they will sell for “loads on eBay”, with people estimating the ‘no rules’ items could change hands at £800 online.

Following the official confirmation, comments are already exploding on the Celebrations’ social posts with immediate excitement: ‘Love this! Giving the people what they want 😂🍫’ and ‘Its not a want…. its a NEED! 😍😍
