UK confectionery group Monty Bojangles has confirmed the appointment of Jamie Lowe in a newly-created role as head of commercial marketing, writes Neill Barston.
As the company noted, the post has been forged amid a period of considerable growth for the business, which is reflected in retail sales that now total more than £25 million.
The company has also won won multiple awards across food taste, confectionery, design, product and SME Export, Jamie’s role will see him drive the sales agenda forward, with a clear plan to double the business over the course of the next three years.
For his part, Jamie has joined the business from Ritter Sport, where he played a key role in the development of presence in the UK for the company. In total, his career spans some 30 years, having also been Sales Director at Big Bear Confectionery. He has previously been a speaker at our World Confectionery Conference at its UK edition in 2023.
Jamie commented: “I am delighted to join the Monty Bojangles team, and since day one I have been made to feel extremely welcome. The business is everything I had hoped it would be, and it’s fantastic to work with so many talented and high performing like-minded people.
“There is clearly a lot of love for the Monty Bojangles brand from customers and consumers alike and my priority is very much to work with our brand partners to build the distribution over the coming months. Con-sumers love our vibrant new brand re-design, and it will be fantastic to share our exciting marketing plans with the trade later this year.
“My team know that every single customer is important to us, and we will continue to work closely with them, but the scope for further growth is huge, and I look forward to working alongside my team to accelerate growth with key retailers, both in store and online. It’s never dull in the world of confectionery, and I can’t wait to fully embrace this next set of challenges and opportunities!”
