A major sustainability goal has been attained by Biscuiteers, the established British hand-iced biscuit company, after gaining confirmation of coveted B Corp status underling its commitment to environmental sourcing standards and ethical trading, writes Neill Barston.
As the business noted, gaining the accreditation re-affirms its belief in transparency and accountability in its operations as it continues to grow its retail presence
The company has specialised in producing a range of handmade products that span everything from chocolates, macarons and brownies, through to providing memorable treat experiences for its customers.
Through a rigorous assessment process, the brand has demonstrated its dedication to balancing profit with purpose while prioritising the wellbeing of its employees, communities, and the planet.
As the company explained of the process, it had been put under the microscope undergoing a rigorous audit and proving our impact across everything from governance, community and employee well-being to sustainability. Notably, less than 5,000 businesses in the UK have made the cut, with the confectionery-based firm noting it was proud to have joined the ethical standards movement.
Biscuiteers founder, Harriet Hastings, commented: “B Corp is an important milestone for the business as it provides a framework to share our business values with our stakeholders and hold ourselves to account as a socially and environmentally positive multi -channel brand.”
The certification underscores Biscuiteers’ dedication to responsible business practices and its ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference.
