Hershey unveils Churro KitKat limited edition ahead of Sweets & Snacks Expo

Just ahead of its Sweets & Snacks Expo appearance, Hershey is introducing KitKat fans to a hot new limited edition of the classic KitKat, which will now be available in a limited edition Churro format, writes Neill Barston.

The line will be made available from next month, and is just one of many special editions that the brand, which the US confectionery giant produces for the region under licence, and has seen it continue to prove a popular flagship product series.

As the company noted, the new flavour offers a homage to the iconic dessert that brings back memories of summer no matter where you are in the world – pairing that signature churro taste with the familiar crunch of a KitKat bar. Much like the freshly baked, sweet, doughy treat, the company’s latest offering features buttery churro-flavoured creme with sugar mixed between the brand’s fan-favourite wafers.

The new product will be on shelves nationwide just in time for National Churro Day on June 6, with the latest series available in standard, king, and snack size, designed for sharing or just a fast break.

“We love seeing fan’s responses to our limited-edition KitKat flavours – especially one as universally loved as churros,” said Alex Herzog, Associate KitKat Brand Manager. “We hope that every bite of the buttery, churro flavour and familiar crispy crunch of our wafers unlocks memories of the delightful experience of enjoying freshly baked churros from the boardwalk stand, amusement park, or the local fair.”

The latest KitKat Churro bar follows in the wake of a broad array of seasonal and permanent flavours for KitKat, including Fruity Cereal, Blueberry Muffin, Birthday Cake and Lemon Crisp varieties.
