GoodSam snacks group gains key honours with industry sustainability accolade

Ethically-focused B-corp chocolate and snacks brand GoodSam has gained a bronze accolade in the Sustainability, Environment, & Climate business strategy for product, innovation, or services in the second annual Anthem Awards, writes Neill Barston.

As the company explained, winners were selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Its members include: Nicholas Thompson, CEO, The Atlantic, Christina Swarns, Executive Director, Innocence Project, Zarna Surti, Global Creative Director, Nike Purpose, Maurice Mitchell, National Director, Working Families Party among many others.

According to GoodSam, the business has set out to create strategic partnerships with suppliers and farmers in order to create products that are Good for You, Good for Farmers and Good for the Planet, under the banner of ‘Planet, People, Prosperity for All.’

The brand also aimed to do work that would support obtaining B Corp status, earning that certification as a B Corporation (B Corp) in late 2022. The Anthem Award recognition follows a milestone 2022 wherein GoodSAM grew its retail presence, expanded key partnerships, and introduced more new products in order to make sustainable snacking and food more accessible for consumers.

GoodSAM’s products are available on GoodSAMFoods.com,  Amazon, Thrive Market, and select retailers, including Sprouts Market, Erewhon & Fresh Thyme, and include various chocolate bars, chocolate chips, nuts, and candy-coated nuts, and more.

All products in the GoodSAM line are direct trade, non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, keto-friendly, contain no added sugar, and are grown using regenerative farming techniques and preserving indigenous and smallholder farmer wisdom.

“Since launching this platform in June of 2021, we have seen that social change has emerged as a dominant force in mainstream culture.” said Anthem Awards Managing Director Jessica Lauretti. “The sheer number, breadth and overall quality of the entries shared with us in the 2nd Annual Awards is a testament to the strength of this growing movement and demonstrates an enduring commitment to the work that is both humbling and inspiring to see. From the war in Ukraine, to protests in Iran and the ongoing battle for equality here at home in the States, the call for change not only perseveres but is a growing global chorus.

“Our team at GoodSAM is honoured to be recognised by the Anthem Awards and be among such impressive companies and projects that align so closely with our mission to create product transparency and make regenerative agriculture and sustainable snacking more accessible to consumers,” says GoodSAM Founder & CEO, Heather K. Terry. “As we look into the future, we are passionate about continuing to be a responsible partner for indigenous communities and small farms, an innovator of delicious snacks, and a truly regenerative food brand.”
