Whitakers Chocolates expands with its first ‘Easymelt’ couverture series

UK confectionery business Whitakers Chocolates is continuing expansion of its portfolio with a significant move into producing the firm’s first ‘Easymelt’ couverture line, writes Neill Barston.

As the business explained, it has been known for serving the market for fondant creams, chocolate wafer thins, as well as engaging with the catering sector, yet it has not delved into the specialist couverture market until now.

The company’s latest line is in the form of its dark chocolate 55% ‘Easymelt’ mini chocolate shards, available in 2.5kg resealable bags. It has been developed as gluten free, palm-oil free, suitable for vegetarians and Vegan Society registered.

The Yorkshire-based business proved notably resilient amid the pandemic in releasing its first vegan tin of confectionery, as well as also delivering special editions for the Queen’s Jubilee this summer.

“We’re renowned for our high quality chocolate products and we have an impressive factory with state-of-the-art machinery. This enables us to be flexible in all areas of chocolate production. Over half of our product range is sold and distributed into the catering and hospitality market, so to launch a couverture chocolate product enhances our product offering instantly,” explained the company, with its latest line now available directly from its website.
