Fudge Kitchen set to mark national day with fundraising initiative for Fareshare food charity

UK confectionery brand, Fudge Kitchen, is to offer back-to-back manufacturing experience days this National Fudge Day to raise money for British food charity Fareshare.

The brand will waive the normal price of its special events (usually priced from £95), and instead ask customers who have booked for that occasion to pay any price they see fit (in excess of £10). All proceeds will go directly to Fareshare – which provides around a million meals for vulnerable people in communities across the country.

As the business explained, its expert-led experiences allow customers to take part in a fudge making demonstration. You’ll learn all about how the fudge is made, and what sets it apart from everyone else. There’s also the opportunity to taste lots of the product flavours they have on offer, as well as samples to take home.

National Fudge Day falls on Thursday 16th June this year, and Fudge Kitchen like to treat it as the brands birthday celebration. In aid of this they are also producing a popular birthday cake fudge, a creamy vanilla fudge interwoven with rainbow sprinkles. From the 16th-19th June birthday cake fudge can be bought from any Fudge Kitchen shop, and customers are asked to pay what they like for each slice with all proceeds going to Fareshare too.

Fudge Making Experiences can be booked directly through one of their shops either by phone, email or each shops dedicated Instagram account. Fudge Kitchen shops can be found in Canterbury, Bath, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Windsor & York. Customers will need to mention that they’re booking for the National Fudge Day fundraiser, and all spots will be reserved on a first come first served basis.

Alongside its birthday cake fudge and fudge making experiences, the confectioners will also be running a private online shopping event where customers will receive an exclusive 30% off discount code – to celebrate National Fudge Day. Customers will need to sign up to the event prior to Thursday 9th June in order to receive their exclusive discount code.

Fudge Kitchen have always incorporated charitable giving as part of their business model, and in 2021 alone they raised £15,000 for a number of charitable initiatives. Almost a third of this went to Fareshare UK, which provided nearly 9000 meals.

FareShare is a national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. They distribute good quality surplus food from the UK food industry and get it out to more than 10,500 frontline charities and community groups. The food redistributed by Fareshare reaches charities, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week they provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
