Love Cocoa starts-up its Christmas campaign with truffle advent calendar

UK-based Love Cocoa, the ethical, luxury British chocolate brand developed by James Cadbury, has launched a new charity truffle advent as a key element of its Christmas collection, writes Neill Barston.

As the business explained, it is targeting fundraising of £50,000 fundraising directly from sales towards NHS Charities Together funding projects improving services for patients, as well as providing important practical and emotional support for medical staff and volunteers.

Furthermore, the sale of each calendar will plant three trees in East Kenya as part of the brand’s continuing ‘Plant A Tree’ project, which aims to plant over half a million trees this year in a bid to fight deforestation and climate change within key cocoa supplying regions.

Remaining true to the brand’s British roots, the illustrated, gold-embossed A3 calendar (both plastic free and 100% recyclable) depicts a fabulously festive winter scene in London, shining a spotlight on the country’s NHS heroes.

There’s a selection of four truffle varieties, handmade from sustainably-sourced, palm oil free and slave free single origin Colombian cocoa: Hazelnut Praline, Dark Chocolate Ganache, Gianduja Square and a Giant Rocher plus two surprise Love Cocoa mini bars to enjoy behind the 24th door.

Love Cocoa continues to go from strength-to-strength with permanent listings in Ocado and a sales value of £7.5million. Founder, James Cadbury said: “Giving back was always part of the original Cadbury family’s values and I’m pleased to be able to carry on the tradition with Love Cocoa this Christmas, helping generate much-needed funds to support NHS workers.”

The company’s Christmas line-up also includes gingerbread chocolate truffles (£12.99/150g, luxury chocolate biscuits, which are the brand’s first within the segment (double chocolate or salted caramel at £7.95/175g and limited edition Christmas pudding bars (a 71% dark chocolate bar at £4.50/75g). Finally, the Love Cocoa 2021 Luxury Calendar is available from lovecocoa.com as well asOcado, at £25.
