Scottish biscuit producer expands
Scottish biscuit maker Nevis bakery has invested £280,000 (€311,000) in a new unit to meet the growth in demand for its biscuits, shortbread and oatcakes.
The new unit is located next to its existing premises in Corpach, Scotland. The company will relocate to the new facilities in April.
Nevis bakery was awarded a £70,000 (€77,000) financial package from Highlands and Islands Enterprise. The family-owned company, which has a 30-strong workforce, was established in 1981 by Archie and Hazel Paterson.
Commenting on the development, Archie Paterson says, “This expansion in activity will put us in a great position to explore new markets as well as introduce some new additions to our range. We are delighted that HIE has contributed to our expansion plans. The new unit should allow us to expand production which will also help us to create more employment in the surrounding area.”
