Mars Wrigley appoints Adam Grant as UK general manager

Mars Wrigley UK has confirmed Adam Grant as the company’s general manager, who will be tasked with driving growth for key brands including M&M’s and Galaxy chocolate ranges, reports Neill Barston.

As the company explained, its latest appointee has 25 years experience having previously worked for Danone, where he spent 17 years, most recently as Regional GM including its dairy division covering the UK, Belgium, Netherlands and Ireland, where he led the team to deliver significant growth in sales and market share.

Grant’s appointment marks the first external hire into the UK GM role at Mars Wrigley, as the company continues to develop and grow its strong range of existing confectionery brands.

Commenting on his appointment, Grant said: “I’m really excited to be joining Mars Wrigley as a Purpose and Principles-led business that aligns so well with my own values. It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to grow such incredible brands as M&M’s, Galaxy and Extra – to name my own family’s favourites.

“After almost 90 years of making treats that put a smile on people’s faces, I’m looking forward to leading the UK team to write the next chapter for Mars Wrigley UK in a vibrant and very dynamic category.”

Shaid Shah, Regional President, Mars Wrigley Europe, Russia, CIS & Turkey, also welcomed him the business, as it continues to navigate through pandemic conditions.

He said: “We are delighted to welcome Adam to Mars Wrigley. It is clear that, beyond his wealth of experience and drive for results, Adam has a clear sense of purpose, strong personal values rooted in people and an agile mindset. I look forward to getting to know him better as we work together.”
