Icy steering

The first cold spell of the year is taking hold in the UK and as always I’m very grateful for my 4×4 when manoeuvring out of the country roads in the woodlands where I live. The same careful yet determined steering is going on at Confectionery Production headquarters at the moment.

As you may have heard, we are launching the new magazine Sweets & Snacks alongside the hard work that always goes into the annual Confectionery Production supplier profile December/January issue. This venture into the section of the industry between manufacturer and buyer is opening my eyes further to the developments, patterns, trends and tricky tendencies that flow from consumers through retailers to manufacturers and then suppliers.

The reality of speeding on ice is always that either you take off in beautiful skating style or you fall over. So far, with the balancing support of the industry, we are skating. Long may it continue, as it is always better to get a broader view of the road ahead in icy conditions.
