Rising dough
1st June 2011 – Krispy Kreme UK, a leading retailer of premium quality doughnuts, has released its financial results for the year ending January 2011 reporting strong sales of £33.4 million (€38.3m) over the past 12 months.
The results reveal a growing UK demand for sweet treats with a 12.6 per cent increase on the previous year’s revenue and support the company’s ambitious expansion plans to double its presence in the UK over a five year period.
The report comes after a management restructure in April of this year, which saw Richard Cheshire and Rob Hunt promoted to joint managing directors of the doughnut brand.
The strong performance will pave the way for Krispy Kreme’s plans to open ten stores annually for the next five years.
