Oreo might just be embarking on one of the most limited runs ever for the brand, as it sets about releasing a single-batch, 1,000 pack run of its espresso flavour Thins cookies, reports Neill Barston.
As its parent company, Mondelez noted, the release features the classic smooth creme sandwich and its extremely scarce flavouring for a sophisticated biscuit experience.
The limited run is only available until November 3, with fans advised to sign up on the brand’s website for a chance to receive a free pack, which follows in the wake of a number of special editions launched by the company.
On November 4, those who signed up will receive an email with a redemption code, with the first 1,000 fans to redeem their code at OREO.com/espresso-creme-free-cookies receiving a pack for just $2.99 in shipping.
“Evenings can be a chance to reset in your own way, and we see an opportunity for Oreo Thins to bring a touch of indulgence to those everyday occasions. With Oreo Thins Espresso Creme, we’re bringing fans a new way to enjoy that moment: the beloved Oreo cookie experience, now with delicious espresso flavor and smooth creme, gives fans something delicious to look forward to, whatever their evening plans may be.” – Juliette Whitten, Marketing Director, of its exceedingly rare brand offering.
Among the most intriguing recent launches for the brand has been a tie-in with global pop phenomenon BTS, creating a special edition limited cookie, in celebration of the Korean stars’ much in-demand music.
As the brand explained, the release was backed by a key campaign across 80 countries, which follows a growing trend for companies gaining celebrity endorsement for product ranges.
Furthermore, earlier this year, the company also looked to popular culture to strike a deal with Marvel Comics, with Oreo producing a limited “Stuf of Doom” series of cookies, tapping into the success of the mega movie franchise.
