Life-size chocolate F1 race car places KitKat in pole position

West Sussex-based chocolatier Jen Lindsey-Clark has been quick off the grid for success early in 2026, as she has delivered a life-sized Formula 1 inspired car at the home of KitKat in York, UK, reports Neill Barston.
The experienced confectionery expert, who has previously featured as a cover star for Confectionery Production surrounding her work, which has included a striking Willy Wonka chocolate sculpture of Timothee Chalamet surrounding the recent Warner Brothers movie.
Her latest venture comes in celebration of Nestlé’s continuing relationship with the motorsports world, after the brand became the official chocolate bar of the F1 world, which has also seen special edition KitKats being developed in the shape of racing cars.
Jen, who is known as The Chocolatician, has gained considerable experience with her business, working on a number of major commissions over the past decade, including a life-size chocolate head of monarch King Charles III.
As Nestlé noted, its life-sized chocolate racing car enjoyed a special reveal by former FI commentator Billy Monger, was unveiled at Silverstone racetrack, before arriving in York,
The giant chocolate car, which measures an impressive five metres in length, two metres in width and weighs around 350kg, captivated visitors as it went on display at St Helen’s Square, York.
Scott Coles, Managing Director for Nestlé Confectionery in the UK and Ireland, said: “We’re incredibly proud to bring this spectacular F1® inspired chocolate car home to York, the birthplace of KitKat. This city has been at the heart of our brand for generations and sharing such a unique celebration of creativity and craftsmanship with the community means a great deal to us, as does our partnership with Formula 1. ”
Crafted over 1,254 hours and led by master chocolatier, Jen Lindsey-Clark, the car is equal to the equivalent of more than 16,900 two-finger KitKats.
As the company noted, York is also the home of Nestlé’s R&D Centre, a global hub for innovation in confectionery. Visitors who came to see the car were able to try KitKat’s new limited-edition miniature replica chocolate car, now available nationwide. Featuring a smooth milk chocolate shell with chocolatey filling and embedded crispy cereal pieces that showcase its research and development skills.
