Roasted peanut flavour revealed for Ritter’s growing UK market

Premium chocolate brand Ritter Sport has extended its portfolio with a new taste innovation with its latest Roasted Peanut flavour, writes Neill Barston.

The German-founded group has gained significant traction in the UK over the past decade of operating in the region, with its latest offering featuring in its classic 100g square bar option.

As the business noted, the new variant has already delivered standout performance as part of Ritter Sport’s first branded shipper activation with Sainsbury’s, driving a 40% uplift in sales.

The new line has notably gained listings in Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Tesco, with additional locations in the pipeline.

Moreover, the POS included Roasted Peanut, alongside other much-loved blocks such as Pistachio, Praline, Marzipan, Rum Raisin, Milk Whole Hazelnut and Dark Whole Hazelnut.

Ritter Sport continues to focus on category growth rather than brand switching. Two thirds of the brand’s value growth is incremental, with its high-quality chocolate encouraging shoppers to expand their repertoires, rather than trade across from competitor brands.

As the company added,  the new Roasted Peanut bar reinforces the brand’s credentials in premium block chocolate, tapping into strong consumer demand for nut inclusions that deliver on taste and quality.
