European confectionery trade body, Caobisco has named Olga Martinez, director of corporate affairs and sustainability at Grupo Bimbo, as its vice president, writes Neill Barston.
The key appointment was made at the organisation’s general assembly yesterday, with the new post-holder working alongside fellow VP Aldo Cristiano of Ferrero, and president Tobias Bachmüller, forming part of a management Troika for the organisation.
As the group noted, the leadership trio will guide the key regional body at a pivotal moment for the European confectionery and chocolate industry.
Martínez’s election recognises her strong professional trajectory and longstanding commitment to the advancement of the sector. Since the creation of Produlce in 2011, she has been instrumental in driving the modernisation, cohesion and global projection of the Spanish confectionery industry.
The Caobisco team welcomed Olga, adding that it looks forward to her contributions within the Troika, as the organisation continues to support a resilient, innovative and sustainable European confectionery sector.
“Olga Martínez’s appointment is a source of great pride for the entire sector. Her leadership has strengthened Produlce and has elevated the visibility of Spanish confectionery across Europe. We are confident that her contributions within CAOBISCO will reinforce our presence and exemplify commitment, professionalism and forward-thinking leadership,” said Rubén Moreno, Secretary General of Produlce.
Olga Martínez enthused about taking up the role. She said: “It is an honour to take on the vice-presidency of Caobisco. Representing the Spanish confectionery industry at the European level is a responsibility I assume with enthusiasm and strong commitment. The sector is at a decisive moment, and coordinated European action will be essential to enhance its competitiveness and its future.”
In addition, the VP posted further on her appointment, as she underlined the value of working collaboratively, noting that ‘when we work together, things happen.”
Commenting on Linkedin, she added: “I have always believed that cooperation, listening, and the strength of the team are what truly drive a sector forward. And this new challenge only reinforces that conviction. Our industry is at a decisive moment, and working in a united and coordinated way across Europe will be essential to boost its competitiveness and its future.
