UK confectionery business Fudge Kitchen is in celebratory mood after being presented with its Team of the Year Award linked to this year’s World Confectionery Conference, reports Neill Barston.
The company had been unable to attend our key annual event which was held in Brussels in September owing to a scheduling clash with its own internal gathering, but sent a video message expressing its elation a gaining a key industry honour. (see our exclusive video review of the event below).
Confectionery Production was on hand at the firm’s manufacturing headquarters at Aylesham, near Canterbury, to present the business with its award, which judged had given for the company’s dedication to producing consistently high quality premium products for more than four decades.
The company has continued to expand its offering in working with a number of leading high-end retailers including Harrods, Selfridges and John Lewis, targeting the luxury gifting market. It has also gained success through its network of UK retail stores.
Richard Parson, managing director of the business, commented: “Its always a pleasure when all the hard work that goes into making our confectionery is recognised. Our team pours everything into its production work here, and unfortunately we couldn’t be at the WCC this year as we had our own conference, but they were elate to have gained those honours.
“The average term of service working here is around 7-8 years, and we also have some who have been here nearly 40 years. It’s one of those businesses that is like a family, as everyone knows they have a part to play, and they do it brilliantly.
“It’s tricky to step into the shoes of someone who had been so indomitable a figure as Sian Holt who had led the business for decades, but I think that the team we have is so supportive and knowledgeable, that it’s a pleasure to work with such a bunch of talented individuals.”
